Maintenance Supervisor – Food Industry

Our Client, a leading Food Manufacturing Company, is currently seeking an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.

Position:  Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor‘s role is focused on building the maintenance team’s ownership, capability and execution excellence of Standard Maintenance Practices, Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Process Control, Line Monitoring etc. The role is focused on implementing the key technical systems and empowering the Maintenance team’s accountability to achieve company goals, business performance expectations, continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee  all shift maintenance personnel and support maintenance personnel reporting to him/her directly.

General Description:

  • Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including, packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance and stationary engineering
  • Directing daily maintenance operations, minimizing operating costs, implementing key performance indicators & measurements to optimize maintenance & operating efficiencies
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance re: health & safety, environmental standards and Boiler Operations
  • Working with Engineering & Technical Services to ensure seamless introduction of capital projects, taking this facility to the next level of sophistication in terms of automation
  • Improving reliability of critical production lines & ensuring machinery downtimes are reduced
  • Build the Maintenance team’s capability to understand, own and effectively execute with excellence the key systems associated with World Class Maintenance
  • Lead the performance development of the shift maintenance, mechanical and electrical as well as the Inventory Coordinator
  • Assume total responsibility for the R&M budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability
  • Development of the maintenance department to a world-class level, driving change in Preventive, Predictive maintenance,
  • MRO Inventory control and Planning
  • Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to execute the technical systems associated with predictive & preventative maintenance, process control and OEE/downtime data collection and interpretation
  • Leads building the Maintenance team’s daily troubleshooting capability of the technical and process failures recognizing when, who and how to draw support
  • Progress teamwork between operations and technical support teams in problem solving, prioritization and objectives towards the development of the technical systems
  • Actively participates in the daily production meeting as a key component of the operating team
  • Monitors team performance-seeking opportunities to make continuous performance improvements

Job Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years experienced in a Supervisory capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good
  • Possesses an emphasis on developing others capabilities.
  • Enjoys working with others and sees team work as a more productive environment.
  • Can recognize others achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels through active listening skills, communication and facilitation skills
  • High degree of computer & systems literacy
  • Familiarity with a capital-intensive facility, 5S +1 and Lean Practices
  • Engineering or Skilled Trades background

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Engineering Degree or Skilled Trades background
