Process Engineer – Pharmacuetical Industry

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year

Position:  Process Engineer
Shift:  Days

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement guidelines and best practices for process engineering in the bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing facility
  • Develop process design documents to define the design and ensure that the design components (or unit operations) fit together.
  • These documents will be used in communicating ideas and plans to stakeholders and project team involved with the design, to external regulatory agencies, to equipment vendors and to construction contractors.
  • Utilize workflows, execute project initiatives, ensure cost efficient management of schedule and resource

Other Responsibilities:

  • Design conceptual layout of plant & production projects & manage the project from conception to implementation
  • Provide input into facility design for manufacturing process, such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, and equipment design specifications (URS, FRS)
  • Prepare and review technical reports
  • Participate in project scope development, cost estimates and project time lines, manage external and internal resources
  • Mentor and coach junior resources

Qualifications:

  • Minimum a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 6-year hands-on experience in process engineering and related commercial scale-up/manufacturing with equipment design experience in a pharmaceutical or food industry
  • Through understanding of bio-pharmaceutical process equipment specification, selection, installation, and commissioning
  • Mandatory experience on fermentors, ultra-filtration skids, centrifugation, downstream process equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable procedures, specifications, regulations and standards
