Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000 per year

The Regulatory Affairs / International Trade Compliance Specialist  –  responsible for leading / administrative support for the Regulatory Affairs requirements , to enable efficient and timely international trade compliance with domestic (Canadian) and international regulations, maintain current  (knowledge) of and communicate regulatory requirements – maintaining effective relationships with internal and external regulatory stakeholders.

Location – GTA West (Milton / Guelph/ Waterloo Area)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage inventory of import permits for raw materials, finished goods, samples, and marketing material, packaging and plant consumables where applicable 
  • Coordinate renewal of import permits
  • Coordinate communications to all interested business partner
  • Initiate applications for new permits as requested
  • Validate Quality Control Certificates ( QCCs) , Free Sale Certificates (FSCs) ensuring that they are issued with accuracy in a timely manner
  • Validate RGU audit files prior to CFIA (3rd party) audits –ensuring that supporting documents current / valid
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of proposed new supplier with international trade partners (importing countries/markets) prior to listing / use
  • Obtain and maintain “Non-Ruminant” letters for suppliers of animal origin raw material
  • Set-up POs for regulatory expenses
  • Support/coordinate internal auditing to ensure compliance with regulatory import and export requirements
  • Document and communicate (distribute) internal compliance audit finding

The ideal Candidate should have:

  • Regulatory/Trade fundamentals
  • Technical knowledge of nutrition (health)
  • Bachelor degree
  • Proven experience and proficiency in Regulatory Affair
  • Bilingual is an asset (French and English)
